BIO: Hello! Welcome to 6th grade...the first year of Middle School. I am Amy Nielsen the 6th grade English Language Arts & Minnesota History teacher at Alden-Conger Middle School. I have been teaching at Alden-Conger in different grade levels since fall 1997, with 17 of them in 6th grade. I was born and raised in Albert Lea. My family includes my husband, Brian, and my children: Lillie & Brennan. Brian works in quality control for Old Castle Construction out of St. Peter. My daughter, Lillie, is finishing up her senior year at Winona State and student teaching. My son, Brennan, is a student at Alden-Conger. I am busy keeping up with my kids' activities. Lillie is involved in choir, singing competitions, and learning how to survive college life. Brennan keeps me busy with sports and activities at Alden-Conger. You will find me behind the scenes for choir concerts, musicals, Super Mileage, Clay Target, and the numerous other activities Brennan is involved in. In my free time (which is not often), I enjoy going for walks, reading, spending time with my family (especially attending concerts), & scrap booking. You may see me out walking with any of my 4 Golden Retriever or snuggling my orange tabby, Mango. I also work a second job and you may find me being your server or waitress someday.
EDUCATION: I have been teaching at Alden-Conger in different grade levels since the fall 1998, with 13 of them in 6th grade. I am a graduate of Albert Lea High School.
